The Key Factor

This key comes from my favorite outdoor market in Rome. I found the piece on a crisp day in November of 2009 in a bin dizzy with keys. I was drawn to its unique shape that seemed somewhat industrial yet contained a clover like design in the middle that is seen in motifs throughout the city. It was like old Rome and new Rome (if there ever really can be a "new" Rome). I wonder what it opened, of course, like I do with all of these keys. Probably something mundane despite such a haunting city. The key is about an inch and a half long.
