The Key Factor

This key was buried away in a box on a side street of one of Paris' more sprawling flea markets. I remember that the day was sunny after many grey ones. At the time I didn't know why I wanted these keys, but I grabbed them anyway. I love the idea that people had used these to open and shut doors and lock things they wanted to protect. It offers a sense of coming and going, movement in general which I hope is reflected in the pieces. 

I couldn't help the menage a trois reference with the three circles and its French origin, The key is about 1 inch in length and mottled with white, black and champaign diamonds.
