The Key Factor

This key comes from my favorite outdoor market in Rome. I found the piece on a crisp day in November of 2009 in a bin dizzy with keys. I was drawn to its industrial and curious shape. I wonder what it opened, of course, like I do with all of these keys. The scenario could be anything, from a Medieval door with a new lock, to a cloister, movie production set to villa. But it probably just opened the door to something mundane, despite such a complex city. The key is rather robust at 2 inches long. There are 16 black diamonds scattered throughout.
