Modern humans came out of Africa and, since then, a lot has changed.
Fast forward 200,000 years, and JRJ made its way to Tanzania in search of a piece of that origin story. That pursuit brought us to the flea market in Dar es Salaam where after trading a plastic watch for information, an old metal tribal Maasai hunting spear surfaced.
In the spirit of the genetic migration out of the Savanna, we stamped letters to represent a Telomere -- repetitive DNA at the end of a chromosome that protects it from deteriorating -- along the surface of the spearhead.
This piece is our modern version of an "eternal life" amulet. Wear it and remember that everything comes from somewhere, and that that "somewhere" is probably the same place.
