Custom Designs
This custom cross is the result of 16 years, old jewelry, a quick meeting and familial dedication.
My first cousin Mindy commissioned this piece made from her recycled gold and diamond jewelry for her daughter’s 16th birthday.
My cousin is a notoriously busy business owner and mother of four, so this meeting for the “commissioned†piece -- although heavy with symbolism and intention --happened on the fly.
She knew she wanted to give her daughter, Devyn, a cross, but it had to be unique and, fitting with my cousin’s style, with some diamonds.
We sat in my 200-square-foot studio at the time and hovered over a tiny pile of old diamonds, broken 14k bracelets, out-of-fashion chain and pink wax that would eventually be manipulated into a desired shape to be cast into gold.
We are decisive people so there wasn’t any gratuitous labor over the design. We agreed that we wanted it to have a dog-tag look with a chunky square-ish cross, mottled with diamonds. My cousin sat to my right saying “yea†or “nay†to size, shape and style. Together we created our Devyn’s cross for her very monumental birthday.
I realized that I loved working with people who want something unique and personalized. Therefore, I am available for custom work. For information you can email me at Jessica@JLRiccillc.com.
