Jessica's Bio

Jessica Ricci finds objects with past lives and translates them into jewelry. She draws upon her own experience as a journalist, English teacher, world traveler and artist to create hand-crafted designs that are anchored in symbolism, history, and sentimentality.

Jessica grew up in Providence, RI and studied English Literature at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts. After graduating, she moved to Montana where she volunteered for an emergency services organization. There she learned how to bead simple necklaces- not knowing that the seed for jewelry design had been planted during those snowed-in wintery nights.

Eventually, Jessica made her way back to Rhode Island where she worked for a small, local newspaper in a fishing town. She then moved to New York City and received her graduate degree in Journalism from New York University and worked for several publications.

In 2001, Ricci moved to Italy to pursue her interest in writing, teaching and creating jewelry.  In the ancient, magical city of Rome Jessica became inspired to create more than beaded necklaces.  Through classes and a good deal of trial and error, Jessica's ideas came to fruition and became the jewelry that speaks to so many.

Jessica's inspirations take her from Paris to Mumbai, San Francisco to Nepal, in search of the markets, bazaars and out-of-the-way destinations that feed her curiosity and nurture her creativity.

Jess is always amazed by what she can unearth amidst vast vacancies or chaos and confusion, and what can evolve and emerge when applied to the world’s oldest art form.

Aggie's Bio

Agatha Linda Ricci, “Aggie,” is named after St. Agatha, the patron saint of jewelers, and her Auntie Linda. 

A true New Englander, she loves to play with big dogs on autumn days in the woods on the East Side of Providence. Her best friends are two Westies with whom she loves to fight over socks; a black Labrador named Lulu who always looks out for her and Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel she hides her toys from. Aggie has travelled to New York City, San Francisco and Missoula, Montana but loves to be on the beach in Newport, RI the most.

Aggie supports Providence Animal Rescue League http://www.parl.org/ and hopes to learn “paw” in the near future.
